Why do we have problems in business and life?

1-52 Voices January 6, 2014

The C3 Leaders devotion is a peer-to-peer weekly reflection from business leaders related to their journey with Christ. Each weekly devotion will be written by a different author from among the C3 Leaders community, 52 unique authors to be exact.

As we go through this next year together, we pray that these words and reflections will encourage you in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

A Devotional from Peter Cline,  Auxano Advisors

Many people see problems as obstacles to be avoided rather than as opportunities to experience the life of God. Thank God for problems because we are in business to solve other people’s problems. That’s it. If people didn’t have problems they wouldn’t need your products or services.

A friend of mine once said, “Problems are God’s washing machine to beat the hell out of us. Literally.” I wonder how many of us have felt like we have had this experience?

Revelation 2:26 says – “And he who overcomes, and he who keeps my deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations.” This tells us if we overcome our problems we will receive more authority and power to do even greater things.

In the middle of a problem perspective is everything. When you face your next problem remember these points:

– Problems are designed by God to empower me, not defeat me.

– Problems teach me to depend on God as I learn to analyze them, apply the right solution and    take redemptive action.

– Problems will promote me or defeat me depending on how I respond to them.

May God’s grace be upon you as you solve problems today.
