C3 LEADERS JOB DESCRIPTION 
JOB TITLE:  President 

MINISTRY:  C3 Leaders DEPT:  Admin 

REPORTS TO:  C3 Leaders’ Board 

SUPERVISES:  Director of Operations and C3 Forum Chairs 

PROPOSED FLSA STATUS:  EXEMPT:  X   NONEXEMPT: __      

 

Position Summary: President is a full-time, exempt role who reports to the Board of Directors. This experienced, proven leader will steward the mission of C3 Leaders by serving proven and dedicated C3 Forum Chairs as a strong advocate/evangelist/cheerleader for C3 Leaders in the marketplace. They will also be a spiritual leader in the market, working cooperatively with other organizations, churches, and movements. The President will have the ability to build teams to execute on projects and goals. Through the C3 Forum, C3 Events, and other opportunities, the President will provide spiritual leadership for the marketplace. Finally, the President will offer quality assurance for all that C3 Leaders does to ensure that the bar is high for our people and projects. The President will strengthen and grow mission engagement, action, and execution. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

JOB DUTIES  % of Total Work 
  1. Grow core program of C3 Forums. 
    • Recruit, lead, and care for high-quality C3 Forum Chairs. 
    • Process and place C3 Forum candidates. 
    • Launch new C3 Forums. 
    • Coordinate with C3 Forum Chairs for placement of candidates. 
    • Visit current C3 Forums on a semi-annual basis. 
    • Develop and execute onboarding training for C3 Forum Chairs and candidates being placed in C3 Forums. 
    • Provide tools and support for C3 Forum Chairs to insure C3 Forum excellence.

   2. Direct planning and execution of C3 Events to achieve excellence 

    • High Ground Breakfast 
    • C3Leaders Golf Tournament 
    • Kingdom-Minded Business events 
    • Develop other events to support the growth and enhance the ministry of C3 Leaders.

   3. Leadership and Operations 

    • Spiritual leadership. 
    • Supervise and serve staff and contractors. 
    • Implement strategic plan for mission. 
    • Carry out 10-year vision, three-year measurables, one-year goals, and quarterly rocks. 
    • Ensure that policies are implemented. 
    • Quality Assurance 
    • Constant process improvement to fit with mission priorities and market realities. 
    • Process feedback and input in one-on-one meetings. 
    • Listen for, collect, create testimonies from C3 “Family.”

   4. Fundraising and Resource Development. 

    • President is the Chief Development Officer. 
    • Plan and execute year-end funding campaign. 
    • Strategize and position mission for long-term funding success.

   5. Marketing 

    • Chief public face of C3 Leaders in community and with other orgs. 
    • Develop and ensure a consistent marketing strategy for mission. 
    • Ensure social media and email marketing plans are carried out. 
    • Clearly articulate vision, mission, and core values faithfully and consistently to employees, C3 “Family,” and market. 
    • Care for our people with birthday cards, life-event gifts, etc.

   6. Board Relations. 

    • Facilitate the work of the Board and its committees. 
    • Regular communication with Board members. 
    • Develop agendas for Executive Team and Board with Board Chair. 
    • Provide advice and counsel to Board in setting and recommending new policies and monitoring performance of C3 Leaders. 
    • Suggest to Board new policies, programs, and quarterly goals.

   7. General mission responsibilities 

    • Offer boutique-level, pastoral leadership for marketplace. 
    • Immediate follow-up and careful attention to all those that show interest as candidates. 
    • Strong follow-up, i.e., action steps and thank you notes. 
    • Collaboration with business, church, organizations, and schools. 
    • Assist in the general administrative/office duties – scheduling, receipts, mileage, and expense reports.

   8. Work collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, C3 “Family,” and donors.   
   9. Perform other duties as assigned.   

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Director of Operations, other staff, contractors, and C3 Forum Chairs. 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES

  1. Christian Commitment and Competencies
    • Mature Christian that demonstrates a Christ-honoring life, resume, and leadership 
    • Agreement and support of C3 Leaders’ Statement of Faith 
    • Ability to converse intelligently and graciously about issues of faith 
    • Ability to demonstrate Christian spirituality by participating, leading, and contributing to office devotional and prayer times 
    • A demonstrated ability to pray and listen to the Lord on behalf of our market and marketplace leaders 
    • Capable Emotional Intelligence with the ability to discern when to lean in or not 
    • Discernment 
  1. Education:  Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
  2. Experience:  A proven track record of leadership experience
  3. Licensure/Certification: none
  4. Software and Equipment Used: Microsoft Office Suite
  5. Other Considerations:   
    • Highly organized, strong interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written; keen judgment skills; high degree of professionalism 
    • A warm and engaging customer-first attitude and demeanor  
    • Possess an articulate passion for C3 Leaders’ mission. 
    • Ability to solicit personal individual and corporate giving. 
    • Maintain discretion and trust by keeping discussions confidential. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: MBA or Seminary degree from an accredited college or university.
  2.  Experience:
    • Twenty years business management/leadership experience.  
    • A proven track record of developing people. 
    • Ministry experience, vocationally or as a volunteer, with proven success and solid references.
