Fifteen ways you can remember Golgotha today, while at work or as a part of your Good Friday afternoon:
- Wear black to symbolize the mourning of Christ’s death.
- Observe a day of fasting and abstinence. Specifically, fast from bread as a reminder of the Bread of Life.
- Shut off the distractions. Turn off your phone, notifications, social media (you’ll survive), maybe even email.
- Clean or organize your workspace, as you reflect on how Christ has made you “clean.”
- Anyone in your work that you need to forgive? Offer forgiveness today.
- Read the passion story from the Bible.
- Keep fun activities to a minimum.
- Memorize John 3:16 or another Bible verse.
- Meditate on the 7 Last Words of Christ.
- Write a thank-you note to Jesus for all that He has done for you.
- Sneak away from work to worship/pray.
- Grab a hot cross bun. There was a priest that gave out buns to the poor on Good Friday.
- Lean into good deeds. Open the door for others. Clean the workplace kitchen.
- Search “Stations of the Cross” on the internet and meditate upon each.
- Just be silent.
