C3 Leaders look at the “Just Business” Model

By November 8, 2012November 16th, 2015No Comments

The concept of “Just Business” came from our thinking around a triple entendre for the term, JB. When business people shaft others through cunning manipulation or deceit, the phrase oft repeated is, “Well, it’s just business.” That phrase usually means I legally (not ethically) took advantage of you and it is just too bad that you were on the losing end of the raw business deal. The second meaning and not sinister at all is that you are being called to focus on business and forget all of the other influences and distractions competing for your attention. The third definition is really the meaning we hope to convey as we work with business leaders who seek to live out the values of Jesus in the marketplace. Just Business in this construct is around the concept of doing what is just in the sense of doing good and right from God’s perspective…in the marketplace.

At C3 Leaders three concepts help shape our view of a  “Just Business.”

  1. The business is good for you and your family
  2. The business is good for your employees, investors, suppliers, customers, and their families
  3. The business is good for the community

We are looking toward the day when our region is filled with those who love “Just Business.”

Stay tuned for C3 Leaders Round Tables… exploring the Just Business.
